Power trips with a particular appliance
Find the cause before switching things back on.
Power trips when an appliance is used, or after something was damaged? Tell us what happened. A fault in an appliance and a fault in the fixed wiring need different solutions.
- Affected circuit and appliance
- The condition of connections and wiring
- The safe repair needed
An enquiry is not a confirmed appointment. We discuss the work and costs first.

When might you need this service?
You do not need to diagnose the installation yourself.
A breaker immediately trips again
Power failed after visible damage
Fire, smoke or immediate danger? Leave the area and call 112. If neighbours have no power too, check the grid outage first.
Understand the work before you agree.
The pattern helps locate the fault
Tell us what was switched on and whether any work, moisture or damage preceded the outage. A tripped breaker alone does not prove a short circuit.
Repair only what is needed
The electrician investigates and explains whether the issue is an appliance, connection or wiring. A whole installation is not automatically replaced because of one fault.
Understand which part has failed
If neighbours have lost power too, check the network outage before arranging work inside your home. For a problem only at your address, note which rooms still have power and whether a breaker or safety switch has tripped. Avoid opening the fuse box.
The fuse box is often called a groepenkast and the safety switch an aardlekschakelaar.
Describe the job in plain English.
Tell us what you see, where the work is and how we can reach you. You do not need to choose a technical solution before contacting us.

These details are useful.
- When the breaker tripped
- Which appliances were running
- Any visible damage, without touching it
In a rented home or apartment?
Tell your landlord or property manager about a fault and check who can approve changes to fixed wiring. Mention access to a shared meter room or parking area where relevant.
Find your townAsk for the full cost before work starts.
The price depends on the fault or installation, materials, labour and timing. Describe your situation so we can discuss the relevant charges before you confirm a visit.
How costs are discussedVisit and diagnosis
Ask about a call-out charge and fault finding.
Labour, materials and VAT
Ask for the expected total, including applicable VAT.
Urgent or additional work
Check possible evening or weekend charges, and agree to extra work first.
For this particular job
Diagnosis, labour and replacement materials depend on where the fault is and how accessible it is. The repair is discussed once the cause is clear.
Send the job detailsQuestions about short circuit repair.
You can call if your situation is different.
Can one appliance cause the problem?
Yes, it can. Tell us the make and model if the fault occurs when you use a particular appliance, but leave the diagnosis to an electrician.
Do I need to know what caused the problem?
No. Tell us what stopped working, when it started and whether it affects a room or the entire property. Do not open the fuse box or try to repair exposed wiring yourself.
Is my online request a confirmed booking?
No. We contact you to discuss the job, expected timing, availability and costs. An appointment is confirmed only after you agree.
I rent my apartment. Who should I contact?
You can describe the problem to us, but also tell your landlord or property manager. For work in shared parts of a building, access and permission may need to be arranged.
What if the whole street has no power?
Check with neighbours. If multiple properties are affected, check the grid operator outage information or call the national fault line 0800-9009. For a fault inside your home, call us.
